Summary of Incident
On the above-mentioned date and time, the Control Room received a call from Mr. P.J. Mallon (Director), reporting a fire outbreak at premises within the Pomona complex, where one of PJM Security’s clients is a tenant.
Response Actions Taken
- Mr. P.J. Mallon immediately contacted the Control Room, requesting urgent deployment of the Day Shift Fire Crew. Instructions were issued for the team to collect the fire truck from base following a report received from client, who is a tenant at the affected premises.
- Unit S6 (Day Shift), comprising Matthew and Edson, was dispatched to base, accompanied by rider Shoko for additional support. The team collected the fire truck and proceeded to the scene together with the Director.
- The Control Room simultaneously notified the City of Harare Fire Brigade, who had already arrived on site and were actively managing the situation.
- Upon arrival, it was established that the fire had originated at the factory unit reportedly due to a chemical imbalance. along with Denksoi, who had also responded
- The City of Harare Fire Brigade successfully contained the fire and prevented it from spreading to adjacent buildings. The PJM Fire Crew remained on standby to provide support and ensure the protection of our client’s premises.
- The Response Manager was kept fully informed throughout the incident, with continuous updates on all actions and developments on site.
Current Status
- The situation has been brought under control, and the scene has been declared safe.
- The Director and Fire Crew departed the premises once it was confirmed that the client was satisfied and no further risk was present.
