At approximately 2100 hours on 1 October 2025, PJM Rescue received a call from a fully paid-up member commercial houseboat reporting that a foreign national guest had sadly passed away while on charter.
PJM Rescue immediately coordinated with the Zimbabwe Republic Police, a medical doctor, and the relevant embassy to ensure all legal and procedural requirements were followed. Our team arranged the safe removal of the deceased from the vessel and transfer to Kariba, where the remains were handed over to the undertakers.
This incident highlights the importance of membership. Had the vessel not been a registered member, the process could have been significantly delayed, complicated, and costly.
We strongly encourage all houseboat charter companies to become PJM Rescue members. Annual membership is only USD $600, offering peace of mind and professional emergency assistance when it matters most.
